Elder Del Dunavant completed his theological studies at Loma Linda University and Andrews University, completing his doctorate in 1988.
From 1975 to 1999 Del pastored in the Northern California Conference in the following churches; Pleasant Hill, Paradise, Magalia, Stockton, and Santa Rosa. In addition to training his members for ministry, he taught at various Adventist colleges and universities. In 1998, Del began teaching “Church Growth” for doctoral students at our seminary at Andrews University. Since then Del has trained pastors in many countries in the area of church growth.
Soul winning has always been one of Del’s highest priorities. Not only has he held numerous evangelistic crusades and seminars, he led in two evangelistic crusades in the former Soviet Union. By God’s blessing, more than thirty new congregations have started because of Del’s leadership.
In 1999, Del began serving the Northern California Conference as the Director of Church Growth and Sabbath School Ministries. In 2008, he transition from being the Sabbath School Director to being the Evangelism Director. Besides being a published author, Del is also a licensed consultant for Natural Church Development as well as a discipleship coach.
Del is married to Mary Ellen and they have two married daughters, Michelle and Kimberly. Del and Mary Ellen are also the proud grandparents of Brianna, Jonathan, Kaylen, Jocelyn, Michael, Mason and Vivian!
