Click here to download the all-new Northern California Conference edition of the Offering Appeals (please note: this is a very low resolution version). Most of the readings are from the North American Division, but there are some local readings. This book follows the NCC offering schedule.

These books in printed form will be made available to pastors at their January meetings, as well as head elders and treasurers. We hope that you place one in the pulpit so it can be used each week by your offering appeals reader.

*Look at the date later in the offering appeals book for the specific designation for these offerings.
The majority of worship services are comprised of a sermon, a congregational prayer, a scriptural reading, a children’s story, two or three hymns, and an offering appeal—and are usually thought of in this order. Each aspect of a church service is important and should be planned to involve the local church members. One facet of the worship hour is often unplanned, and yet it is the one time when each member can personally worship by returning his or her tithe and give a freewill offering for local church needs, conference advance, and world mission budget.

I would like to inspire those who read this book—whether you are an elder or other lay-member—to present the weekly offering appeal and motivate your congregation to see this part of the service as equally as important as the prayer or sermon.

A local congregation, who broke out in applause each week when the offering was announced, inspired me a number of years ago. This church took stewardship to a whole new level by making the offering a significant part of the worship experience. I trust that you will use the readings in this annual offering schedule booklet to assist you in making your regular offering appeal a crucial and significant part of your worship service.
